Pauline Roden Sharpe M.D

Pauline studied expressive arts at Gwent College of Higher Education attaining her Batchelor of Education (Honours) degree in 1992. Pauline became musical director in November 1995 and is one of the few ladies to take on the challenge of a traditional male position. A teacher at Cefn Fforest Primary School, she runs the music and drama club, who are currently rehersing for a production which is to take place later in this academic year. Pauline has a fine soprano voice and her skills as a conductor and accompanist are often called upon by other local choirs and societies.

Gareth Chaffey - Deputy M.D. 

Carolyn is married with four daughters ages 23, 21, 14 and 12. Carolyn started to play the piano at the age of seven and progressed to Grade V. Carolyn joined the Cwm Male Voice Choir in 2002 as joint accompanist with her Father Mr Ronald Farr. Mr Farr retired in 2007 after nearly 60 years service and Carolyn stepped proudly into his shoes. In the years since Carolyn joined the choir she has gained a renewed interest in music and so decided to take up musical studies once more and in 2007 attained the DipLCM (Performers Diploma with the London College of Music).

Gareth has always had a great love of music and started piano lessons at the age of four. Gareth took up the euphonium as a second instrument. Gareth has taken part in school drama productions as well as being involved with band and choir, he has a rich bass voice and has toured the USA with the Black Mountain Male chorus. Gareth is currently the guest accompanist for the Cefn Fforest Primary School drama club.
